🧨 The Pagara: We’ve spent the day “cleansing” the streets with the Pagara—mile-long strings of firecrackers that ward off bad vibes and make way for good luck. If you haven’t smelled the gunpowder in Oranjestad today, did you even experience NYE? 💨
🪗 The Dande: The most beautiful part of the island’s soul. Listening to the Dande groups travel from house to house, singing blessings of health and prosperity. “Ay nobe, ay nobe…”—the song of a fresh start. 🎶
🎆 The Grand Finale: At midnight, the entire horizon from San Nicolas to Noord lights up. It’s not just one show; it’s the whole island celebrating as one.
